More infrastructure.

The WINGAS TRANSPORT natural gas pipeline grid is over 2100 kilometers long and links customers and suppliers right across Germany. Located at the heart of Europe and directly connected to the major European transit lines from Russia and the North Sea, this infrastructure has become an important hub of the European natural gas transport system. Networked via fixed capacity agreements with the European trading centers in Belgium, the Netherlands and Great Britain and controlled at the speed of light by optical data links, the grid ensures more reliability and security in the natural gas market. WINGAS TRANSPORT invests in the continuous expansion of this system, so that Germany can retain its role as a major natural gas transit country. Sustainable investment in the future.

Our largest long-distance pipelines of WINGAS TRANSPORT are:

  • The JAGAL (Jamal-Gas-Anbindungs-Leitung, Yamal gas link) and the STEGAL (Sachsen-Thüringen-ErdGAs-Leitung, Saxony-Thuringia natural gas pipeline). Both are responsible for transporting Russian natural gas in central Germany.
  • The MIDAL (Mitte-Deutschland-Anbindungs-Leitung, Central Germany gas link) crosses Germany from north to south and is the central element of the pipeline system.
  • The WEDAL (West-Deutschland-Anbindungs-Leitung, Western German gas link) supplies Germany with British North Sea gas and, through MIDAL, with Russian natural gas.
