 Good starting position.Today, European countries are in the meantime the largest importers of natural gas in the world. The current rise in imports is already above the overall growth rates for gas consumption. It is predicted that by 2015 three quarters of the gas needed in the EU will have to be purchased outside the EU. Consequently, dependency on sources outside the borders of Europe will increase significantly.As a joint venture of Russia’s Gazprom and Germany’s Wintershall, we have direct access to Russia’s enormous natural gas fields, which make up one-third of the world’s known natural gas deposits. |
